The Outfitter

Daniel Brooks was born in Vanderhoof BC the year his parents Fred and Carolyn bought Crystal Lake Resort. He was only one week old when he made his first trip to the resort. Dan began guiding in 1995, and later in 1997 began taking over the full time operation. He became the youngest guide outfitter in BC in 1999.

Dan is passionate about the outdoors, hunting, and guiding. He enjoys seeing the fresh excitement of a hunter's encounter with a moose or bear. He has personally guided for over 100 animals, many of them trophies, and has taken some nice trophies for himself as well. He is an expert at moose calling and has given seminars on the subject. His extensive and specialized experience with moose in a remote setting make him one of the best outfitters in BC for that species.

In case you like a more philisophical approach to the outdoors, Dan also has a degree in Classical (Greek and Roman) Studies from the University of Waterloo which he obtained during the off season.
