History

Crystal Lake Resort was purchased by Fred and Carolyn Brooks in 1975. They raised their 5 children - Karin (1973), Daniel (1975), Dallin (1977), Spencer (1980), and Nathan (1984) here until 1985 when Fred Brooks broke his back in a tragic accident. While not paralyzed, he was unable to meet the full time demands of the operation. Fred brought in Gary and Cynthia Moore to help operate the resort. The Brooks' continued to spend their summers at Crystal Lake Resort and guided a few clients with whom they had built close friendships. In 1997 Daniel Brooks began guiding for his father and started taking over full time operations from Gary Moore. He became the Guide and Outfitter in 1999.
