Crystal Lake Resort is the legacy of Fred and Caryolyn Brooks and has been owned and operated by the Brooks Family since 1975. Now into the second generation, Dan Brooks is the outfitter with his wife Ellen and their 8 daughters Mary, Felicia, Alaura, Jordan, Kalissa, Brielle, Danae, and Rachel.
Dan started guiding moose hunters in 1994 and at 22 years of age became one of the youngest outfitters ever in British Columbia when he took over the operation in 1997. His decades of moose guiding have made him one of the most experienced moose guides in B.C.. Dan is passionate about moose guiding and loves to share his passion with others by teaching seminars on moose hunting and calling. In 2000 Dan guided his first bear hunter and for the first time ever Crystal Lake began offering spring black bear hunts. The high quantity and quality of bears made it an immediate success.
The Crystal Lakes Wilderness where we hunt and fish has some of the best habitat for moose to be found anywhere in the province of BC. This prime habitat is covered in dense forests, with swamps, meadows and dozens of lakes scattered throughout. Black bears are found in great numbers in the lower elevations around the Crystal Lakes Wilderness. The lakes are teeming with native rainbow trout, the forests are full of wildlife from moose to lynx to grouse, and the wilderness is remote, pristine and beautiful.
